Brenda L Croft is a member of the Gurindji/Mutpurra nations from Kalkaringi/Daguragu in the Northern Territory, Australia. In 2009 Brenda commenced as Lecturer, David Unaipon College of Education and Research (DUCIER), Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences, University of South Australia.

From 2002 to early 2009 Brenda was Senior Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art at the National Gallery of Australia, and prior to this she was Curator of Indigenous Art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 1999 - 2001. She has lived and worked in most states and territories of Australia, particularly Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Darwin, as well as overseas in the USA and Italy.

Brenda has worked as a curator, arts administrator, consultant and writer since 1987 and been a practising artist since 1985, with works of art held in major public and private collections in Australia and overseas.
